I pay attention to Nassau County politics. I care about the place where my family and neighbors live. I see all the headlines - NIFA took over, they have the county employees suing for breaking contracts. Did I mention the police precinct closures?
I not only see the headlines; I read a fair amount. We need our government to function. It just seems like in a few years we went from an upward trajectory, to a downward spiral.
I’m tired of shaking my head in disappointment. I try to stay involved and informed, and I can see that my home, Nassau County, is falling apart under Ed Mangano. Ed Mangano is in office, it’s his job to run this place and I want him to do his job so I don’t have to worry that my house is going to lose value because the county is bankrupt or because there’s no police anymore, or because he got rid of all the government services people need. We can all see the roads falling apart, the sewer plant breaking down and putting sewage in people’s houses. How could he allow that to happen? To look at the county’s decay, you would never know we were one of the highest taxed counties in the country.
I like Tom Suozzi. Things were going the right way when he was in office. Let’s just bring him back. There was none of this business of losing cops, major lawsuits with all the employees, sewage in the streets, an empty Nassau Coliseum. It goes on and on. Nassau wants a guy in office who just takes care of business, who just gets it done. That is Tom.
