Letter: Thank You From Fashion Show Chairpersons

On Friday, Feb. 4, the Glen Cove High School Class of 2011 held its annual Senior Fashion Show. With the help of many, it was an extremely successful benefit that will help increase the funding for end of the year activities for our seniors. With over 200 people in attendance at the high school auditorium and 52 seniors modeling in the show, this event would not be possible without the tremendous efforts of our many volunteers and vendors.

As co‑chairs for the fashion show, we would like to especially thank all of the parents who volunteered to help with the show in addition to our wonderful fashion show Steering Committee: Diane Bruschini, Teresa DiPaola, Shirley Melillo and the Senior Class advisor, Jason Bieder.

The show went smoothly thanks to everyone who contributed. Thank you to the following stores for lending their clothes to be modeled by our students for the night: S&S Tuxedos, Victor Talbots, Sundown Ski and Surf Shop, Spotlight Italia Boutique, Estelle’s Dressy Dresses, 2 Be Seen, Annie Sez, J.McLaughlin, The Annex Shoppe, Lester’s, Teen Pix and Charm Furs.

With the generosity of several businesses and people in our town we were able to give out goody bags and make 23 baskets to be raffled off. Please remember to support them: Something Else, Subway, Bagel Café, 100 Roll Sushi, Amalfi, Epiphany Restaurant, One Plus One Nail, New Glen Cove Nail Spa, Henry’s, Joel Bieder Photography, Sleek Hair Salon, Cabo Landscaping, Annie Sez, Starbucks, TJ Maxx, Elite Party Rentals, Lynn Kassar, Montesantos Family, GESI Hospitality/ Dakas Family, Stop & Shop, King Kullen, Fatty Fish, GCHS Booster Club, Bruschini Family, DiPaola Family, Napoli Family, Sakhaee Family, Langone Family, Marte Family, The Melillo Family. We couldn’t have done it without them.

We would like to thank the people who helped behind the scenes with getting the students to their fittings, picking up clothes, decorating, make-up, hairstyling wrapping baskets, chaperoning or just being there for support: Allison Farfan, Summer Smiley, Graciela and Monica Bustos, Danny Granados, Nelson Acosta, Laura Sakhaee, Maria Fakatselis, Natalie Tenke, Samantha DiPaola, Michelle Noriega, Erick Pajuelo, Lorenzo Sfoggia, Paulo Coelho, Kayla Kenary (for our beautiful journal cover), Mrs. Fakatselis, Lynn Sadowski, Liz Caifa, Jeanann Valance, Barbara Baron, Kathy Gaudio, Debbie Solomito, Carol Kenary, Maria Dakas, Tina Hament, Dianna Morales, Yolandi Ogando, Maureen Pappachristou, Karen Ayala, Linda MacDonald, Darlene Oliver, Maria Munoz, Nina Sakhaee, Mrs. Famiglietti, Maria Simmons, Suzanne Anderson, Janet Durso, Eileen Borer, The Tripp Family, Antoinette Cappiello. And we would also like to thank Richard Brunie, director of buildings and grounds and Head Custodian Ralph Dimaggio and his team of custodians for all of their help with the show. Assistant Principals Mr. Hudson and Mrs. Goodine, Ms. Diaz, Mr. Rosario and Mr. Holland, under the direction of Mr. Schutt, head of security. Again, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all of those people and businesses that helped make the 24th annual Glen Cove High School Fashion Show a huge success. We feel fortunate to have so many dedicated volunteers to help support such a fun yet important cause in our school. Please remember when you are out and about to support them as well!
