I read with rage the letter asking Pete Kopecky to give up coaching. I then realized that this had to be some sort of a joke… or not.
Coach Kopecky is one of the finest men employed by the school district. He, along with his staff, develop the whole person.
Mr. Gonzalez: winning is not everything. Sportsmanship, confidence and commitment are also very important.
Coach Kopecky coached our son for four years in wrestling. He never won the state or county championships, but managed to place in the counties, win the Superintendents Cup, graduate ninth in his class, became an academic All-American in college, and today is a CFO of a company. His coach helped instill in him a fervent desire to succeed and succeed he has.
Mr. Gonzalez you are a very small man with very poor judgment. You have no idea what you are talking about. Your ignorance came through loud and clear in your letter. I pity you.
