My name is Matthew Bellomo. I am a Life Scout from Troop 6 and have been working on my Boy Scout Eagle Project. I have revitalized and enhanced the Morgan Park Gazebo and Garden area. I have worked very closely with Ms. Darcy Belyea (director of Parks and Recreation of the City of Glen Cove) in planning and carrying out this project. She, along with her staff, Debbie and Zach, have been extremely helpful. I would like to thank them for their support as I completed this project. I would also like to express my sincere thanks to the many wonderful individuals, families, local businesses and other organizations who so generously contributed to my fundraising efforts. Many thanks to: Mike Iannelli (Frank Iannelli & Sons, Masonry Contractors), Sal Di Maggio Landscaping and Michael Bellomo Painting Co. for all their time, assistance and expertise.
I am very thankful for all the help that I received from so many volunteers and I am extremely proud and happy with the final results. I held a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony this past Sunday at the Gazebo for the community to see all the hard work put in and to thank everyone who contributed to my project.
I would like to thank Henry Morgan, Legislator Diane Yatauro, Assemblyman Charles Lavine, Councilwoman Delia DeRiggi-Whitton and Asst. Scoutmaster Lance Cheney, for their encouraging words during the ceremony.
Thank you to my fellow Scouts and Scout families who came to supervise and who put in lots of hard work and many long hours, without whom all of this would not have been possible. I would especially like to thank my parents, Antoinete and Michael Bellomo, and my sister Jessica, for always encouraging me and pushing me to achieve my goals. Thank you for your advice, input and guidance.
Thanks again to all for your friendship, kind support and best wishes.
