Obituary: Christopher Williams

Christopher Williams, of Glen Cove, died on July 9, 2009 at age 33. Brother of Stephanie Williams Hoffmann. Son of the late Charles and Juanita Williams. Nephew of Kathleen Williams and Dolores Connelly. Also survived by cousins, Robert, James, Kevin and Joseph Williams.

Chris was born in Glen Cove and spent his whole life in Glen Cove. His dad, Charles Gibson Williams (“Charlie”), was born in Glen Cove and spent his whole life in Landing, Glen Cove. His mom was Juanita Martinez Williams. After Chris’s mom and dad got married they spent a little time in Garden City and Locust Valley, but then moved back to Glen Cove.

Chris was born at Glen Cove Hospital. He went to St Patrick’s School and went to Glen Cove High School. He loved to drive trucks. As soon as he learned how to drive, he was at his cousin Robby William’s towing shop. After doing this for a couple of years, Chris wanted to drive something bigger. Chris got all his licenses to drive a tractor trailer. Whatever Chris drove he definitely could handle with such ease.

In 2007, he sold his truck and decided to work close to home. He began working for a union in construction. But more importantly, he was still able to drive trucks. Chris loved to go upstate with his close friends (from driving on the road and Glen Cove). He loved to drive quads upstate. He was compassionate, caring, giving and kind hearted. Chris was always there when a friend needed him. His kind words were “not a problem.” He will be forever in our hearts. Visiting was held at Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Mass held at St. Boniface Martyr Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
