James A. Newell
James A. Newell, of Universal, IN, formerly of Glen Cove, passed away on July 8, 2010 at age 91, less than three weeks after his beloved wife, Margaret passed on. Loving father of Sherry Blumhagen (late Robert) of Tobyhanna, PA, Richard Newell (Becky) of Universal, IN, and Janet Phillips (Thomas) of Bayville. Loving grandfather of six; great-grandfather of seven; great-great-grandfather of one; brother of Raymond Newell. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor as well as his love of animals.

Henry T. Boguszewski, of Glen Cove, died on July 11, 2010. Son of the late Gertrude and Henry K. Brother of Karen (Alan) Engmann. Uncle of Todd and Ryan. Mildred (Mimi) Lore, 47-year resident of Glen Cove and for the last seven years a resident of Port Washington, passed away peacefully after a long illness on July 9, 2010 at home. She was predeceased by her husband Eugene Lore.
Survived by her children, Lynn and Dan Couture of Port Washington, Ken and Pat Lore of Bethesda, MD, Stephanie Banach of Melville, Karen and Serge Papasergiou of Sea Cliff. Rolf Carlsen, of Glen Cove and formerly of Sea Cliff, died on July 2, 2010 at age 81. Husband of Virginia. Brother of Sigrid. Grandfather of Kevin Gleeson. Great-grandfather of Kyle Gleeson. He was an Army veteran and a member of American Legion Glen Head, Hempstead Harbor Yacht Club and Iron Workers Union. He was a crane operator for many years. George H. Spellman Jr.
Remembering a Friday Night Hero: My Father. George H. Spellman Jr. (Sonny) passed away June 18, 2010 at age 77. A Locust Valley resident, born in Glen Cove on July 2, 1932 to Henry and Jollie Spellman, George attended Glen Cove High School, where he was a star athlete. A varsity state champion in track and field and his first love varsity football, making the Gridiron 44 two times. From the late ’40s through ’50s George was considered one of the best, if not the best, running back on Long Island.
