Jean Stewart Honeyman, 68, died at home after a short illness on Dec. 7, 2012. She is survived by her dear friend, Jason McCandless of Arlington, VA; cousin Bonni Manning and her husband, Wayne Palmer, of Sherman, CT; cousin Stewart MacDowall and wife, Kathy, of Memphis, NY; David MacDowall and wife, Karen; Alicia Persaud and husband, Amar; and Lindsay MacDowall. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Stormy.
Jean was born in New York City to the late Jean MacDowall Honeyman and Frank C. Honeyman and lived in Manhasset and Glen Head before moving to Williamsburg, VA, in 1995. Jean worked as a sales associate at Wythe Candy in Colonial Williamsburg until her retirement. While living on Long Island, she had worked at Lord & Taylor, A & S and Macy’s. An avid hockey fan and dedicated Anglophile, Jean will surely be missed by all that knew her. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Heritage Humane Society, The American Cancer Society or Heartland Hospice would be appreciated.
Eleanor Glaviano of Glen Head died on Dec. 10, 2012. Beloved wife of the late Martin. Loving mother of Nicholas (Doris), Virginia Langenbach (Richard) and Martin (Edwina). Cherished grandmother of Christine Silipo, Nicholas Glaviano, Andrea DePol, Lenore Kornfeld, Mark Glaviano and great grandmother of Nick, Mark, Dylan, Russell, Devin, Andrew and Ashley. Dear sister of Rita Romano and Andrew Davino. Interment private.
Teresa Baker (nee Scuteri) of Glen Head died on Dec. 9, 2012 at age 84. Teresa worked for the Martone Roofing Company for over 30 years, and later worked alongside her daughter at Town & Country Dog Salon. Proud member of the Glen Cove Son’s of Italy, St. Rocco Rosarian Guild, Gold Ring Club and the Glen Cove Senior Citizen Club. Beloved mother of Marjorie “Remy” Kensington (Eric Rubenacker) and Kathleen Hegarty (Robert). Loving sister of Ann Scuteri, Doris Cantor and the late Joseph and Louis Scuteri. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and grand-nieces. Visitation and Service held at Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home. Interment private. Donations may be made to St. Rocco’s RC Church or The Humane Society.
Elisabeth Rott of Glen Cove died on Dec. 3, 2012 at age 86. Wife of the late Heinz. Mother of Herbert. Interment private.
Jane Verderosa (nee Sofield), formerly of Glen Cove, died on Dec. 5, 2012 at age 78. Beloved wife of the late Tony. Loving mother of Michele Martino (Mike), Michael (Cindy), the late Beverly Buxton (Tim) and Anthony (Donna). Dear sister of Marylou Schenck (Jim), Eleanor Hoban (the late Jack), Harold Sofield (Jessie) and Robert Sofield (Claudia). Proud grandmother of 10. Great grandmother of 3. Claire Wawryck of Oyster Bay died peacefully on Dec. 4, 2012. Beloved sister of Hank Wawryck (Kate). Loving aunt of Liam and Maximilian. Margaret “Peggy” Ciavarelli, 90, of Richmond, VA, and formerly of Glen Cove, passed away on Dec. 2, 2012. She was preceded in death by her son Robert “Bob” Ciavarelli. She is survived by her husband Louis R. Ciavarelli, her daughter Doreen Gluck, her son Louis P, Ciavarelli (Rita), four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
