Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club Hosts Annual Holiday Party

On Friday, Dec. 18, Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club at Lincoln House hosted its annual Holiday Party for Club members. Over 130 children, parents and volunteers attended the annual party held in the Club’s games room. Activities included a delicious meal from Elegant Affairs, music and dancing courtesy of DJ Paulo Coehlo and Adrian Treyo, games and activities including a human Christmas tree, cookie decorating, face painting, a visit from the Christmas Bear from Bayville Adventure Park’s Winter Wonderland, and gifts and photos with Santa in his workshop.

“This night would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our staff, supporters, and volunteers,” said a spokesperson. A special thank you to NYIT/New York College of Osteopathic Medicine students for participating in a Giving Tree and volunteering at the event. Thanks to the generosity of the students, each child at the Club received a wrapped gift. We would also like to thank Debbie Brisbane, Carla D’Ambra, Nina Fagiola, The Finley Family, Maribel Natera, Odell Pound, Danny Ross, Lizz Titus, Brandon Yaraghi, Skyler Zaken, and the entire Club staff for helping to make the evening a success. We would also like to recognize the following individuals for their support in our annual Toy Drive: Darren’s Hair Salon, Dolphin Bookshop of Port Washington, Gadge USA, Happiness is Belonging, London Jewelers, Beth Behr, Debbie Brisbane, Carla D’Ambra, Anne Finley, Jack McDougal, Patricia O’Kane, Debra Quinn Petkanas, Lisa Simek, Alexia Walka, Lisa Warren, Kristie Werz, MaryAnn Wheatley, and Tina Yaraghi.”

All gifts received from the drive either went to families in need or were included in the first annual Holiday Store. Throughout the month of December, Club members earned “Club Bucks” for helping staff, participating in programs, and earning good grades. They were able to spend their bucks in the store to purchase gifts for themselves and their families.
