“It was huge,” said Tripp. “I was the first one there and I don’t think there was an inch of the building that wasn’t already on fire.”
The chief said the Sept. 1 fire was so hot that six neighboring homes around 100 feet away were having their vinyl siding melting.
“There was way too much fire to salvage anything inside. We just had to contain it,” he continued, so the department had to go into a ladder pipe operation while protecting the surrounding homes at the same time.
No one was injured and the cause of the fire was not known at the time of this printing.
