Glen Cove Eggstravaganza

The annual City of Glen Cove egg hunt will be held at 11 a.m. sharp at City Stadium on Morris Avenue. It is open to Glen Cove children, ages 3 to 10 years old. Don’t be late on this very important date because a famous, floppy-eared guest will be present to greet all the children. This event is for only Glen Cove residents. E-Waste Recycling Program

E-Waste (electronic waste) recycling will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Progressive Waste Solutions facility on Morris Avenue. Residents can bring computer monitors, hard drives, printers, keyboards, mice and cables, copiers, fax machines, cell phones, pagers, VCRs, stereos, televisions, and electronic games they no longer want for proper disposal. The program is open to only Glen Cove residents and businesses. Proof of residency is required—driver’s license or utility bill. Any Soldier Mailing 

Patrons of the Glen Cove Public Library are invited to gather items and letters to send to the soldiers serving in Afghanistan, at 11 a.m. There is a box for donations in the library for phone cards, drink mixes, DVDs, CDs, cards and envelopes, calendars, baby wipes, shower gel, hard candies, small games, snack food, holiday decorations, hygiene items, pictures, room decorations, hair ties, work gloves, paperback books, crossword puzzles, socks, hats, and especially letters. These letters and packages go into the hands of soldiers who don’t get much or any mail first. Everything is shared. Monetary donations to cover the cost of mailing are also appreciated. For more information, there will be a list of suggested items in the library or call Anna Dunlop, coordinator, 676-2130.

Friends Of The Glen Cove Library’s Annual Book And Author Luncheon

The Friends of the Library’s annual spring fundraiser will be held at Tappo Restaurant, 284 Glen St., Glen Cove, at 1 p.m.  This year’s honored guest is Antonia Petrash, author of Long Island and the Woman Suffrage Movement. Lunch includes salad or soup, choice of one of five entrees, dessert, soda, coffee and tea. The cost is $35 and is payable by check or money order made out to: Friends of the Glen Cove Library.
