The former Lydia Pratt mansion at 145 Dosoris Lane has been transformed into a “Home Is Where The Heart Is” designer showhouse benefiting the American Heart Association. Showhouse hours: Tuesdays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $30 per person or $20 per person when purchased in groups of 20 or more. There will be no admission to the Showhouse 30 minutes before closing. Children under 6, strollers and pets are not permitted.
Donations of gently used and clean spring, fall and winter jackets or coats, snow pants/suits and boots are welcome.
The Gold Coast Lions Club is continuing its series of Defensive Driving Classes. The classes will be held in the Sea Cliff Village Hall, 300 Sea Cliff Avenue, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please bring your lunch and a pen to class. The cost is $40 per person. The Brookville Church multifaith campus will celebrate its first holiday together on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2:30 p.m., at 2 Brookville Road, Brookville. What began as a Protestant Dutch Reformed church in 1732 is now a place of religious diversity. The Brookville Church, The Muslim Reform Movement Organization, The Interfaith Community of Long Island and The New Synagogue of Long Island all call the Brookville Church’s campus home.

Glen Cove’s own classical singer and mezzo-soprano, Evgeniya Krachmarova, will perform at the Glen Cove Library at 2 p.m. Born in Varna, Bulgaria, Evgeniya’s career began at the age of 7 when she won a position in the Varna Opera Children’s Choir. She studied at the National School of Arts and completed her master’s degree in vocal performance and opera from the National Academy of Music. She’s charmed audiences as a soloist throughout Europe and the U.S.
The Glen Cove Public Library’s Board of Trustees will meet at 6:45 p.m. in the library’s History Room. The Glenwood Landing Women’s Club is hosting a holiday shop and schmooze event from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Glen Head Community Center, 200 Glen Head Road, Glen Head. Shop a variety of local vendors providing handbags, jewelry, specialty clothing, hand knit items and more. Raffles will be held and refreshments served. Proceeds from vendor fees will go to local charitable services for children in our area. They are also collecting food and toiletry donations for local pantries.

Russian food, pastries, Russian gift items, jewelry… They will all be at the annual Christmas bazaar at the Church of Our Lady of Kazan in Sea Cliff. The bazaar will take place on Saturday, December 7th from noon to 4 p.m. in the parish hall of the Church of Our Lady of Kazan.
