There is a lot of work occurring throughout our community, which I have been trying to communicate to you through press releases issued each week in our local and regional newspapers. The volume, complexity and pace of work have made it difficult for me to spend additional time trying to write a substantive mayor's column. However, since much time has elapsed since my last mayor's column I am recommitting myself to getting out a weekly or biweekly column as we progress through this very busy year.
In the coming weeks and months I will present project updates and status on the waterfront, finances, parks, roads, and the master plan. While the mayor's column is limited in size for broad, in-depth information flow, it at least will provide you with some understanding of where we were, where we are, and where we are headed as a community and how it addresses short and long-term issues that will help us.
Aside from the mayor's column, the city communicates via press releases, public meetings and the Glen Cove website at www.glencove-li.com. The city also responds to letters, phone calls and emails as a means of answering or processing information from residents and the business community.
Please look for future columns that will help acquaint you or update you to the many different projects that are making their way from planning and funding toward implementation.
Enjoy the spring and warm weather that has finally arrived and a Happy Mother's Day to all.
