Opinion

Bruce Kennedy is the clear choice for Mayor of Sea Cliff. Bruce possesses the business and political acumen to excel in public service as he has in private industry.

From the onset of our professional relationship several years ago, I've witnessed Bruce's keen understanding of the inner workings of our unique and quirky village. His insights and experience as chairman of the planning board will surely enhance his effectiveness as mayor. He consistently takes a reasonable, sensible, clear-cut approach to all issues as they apply to his three successful businesses or to our village.

He has the innate ability to listen attentively, identify problems, and propose solutions. Bruce always does his homework, a crucial requirement for any businessman or public servant. How refreshing it will be to experience an efficient village government. We can have an administration that explains, with clarity, the intentions of the laws and restrictions that impact us daily. This lack of clarity and efficiency has created unnecessary frustration and dissension. Anyone who has stepped foot in Village Hall can testify to that.

The prevailing attitude toward Sea Cliff government must change. Many residents believe that the system, as it exists, is oppositional and that we are powerless against it. The collective negativity is overwhelming. Bruce will change that. Electing him is the only way to ensure a practical, prudent transformation.

In addition, Bruce represents a positive shift in energy, a realistic modification and an articulate, communicative voice. He will prove that the village is capable of working for us, not against us. Maintaining the beauty and charm of Sea Cliff is paramount. Bruce's plans will preserve the appeal of our village while allowing a forward movement that will undoubtedly improve the quality of life for us all.
