Glen Cove has had many good mayors through the years; unfortunately, I cannot remember all their names.

Glen Cove is a very active city. During the years, there were many good properties acquired for a city beach and a possible golf course, as well as for fixing roads. Some of the best properties were acquired during the terms of Mayor Reilly, Mayor Joseph Suozzi, Mayor Vincent Suozzi, Mayor Thomas Suozzi and Mayor DiPaola.

The thought of a golf course seemed to be a dream until Mayor DiPaola took office. He felt it would be good for all the residents of the city, both young and old alike. Mayor DiPaola was later elected to the New York State Supreme Court, but his love of the city has always remained.

For some unknown reason, a bust of former Mayor Stanco stands at the entrance to the Glen Cove Golf Course. This leads many to believe that he was instrumental in its establishment, which is untrue. Mayor Stanco's bust should be placed at one of the locations attributed to his own achievements.

Mayor Ralph Suozzi should correct this situation.
