The Glen Cove Hall of Fame is seeking qualified candidates for induction into the Glen Cove Hall of Fame. Inductions will take place at the Hall of Fame Induction Dinner in early 2009 at the Swan Club in Glenwood Landing.
Candidates may be eligible for induction into the Hall of Fame for activities as an athletic performer, coach, administrator, manager, promoter or sponsor. The activities may have occurred on the high school, college, professional, semiprofessional or amateur levels. Candidates must also meet the following eligibility requirements:
Must have been a resident of or employed in Glen Cove for a minimum of five consecutive years.
A minimum of four years must have passed since graduation from high school.
Evidence of good citizenship must be present.
The Glen Cove Hall of Fame was established in 1983 to honor the achievements of Glen Cove athletes and athletic administrators. To date, 207 people have been enshrined into the Glen Cove Hall of Fame and their names appear on the beautiful monument at the entrance to John Maccarone Memorial Stadium, formerly known as Glen Cove City Stadium.
