Margaret L. Barbour, a longtime resident of Bayville, died on Aug. 2, 2008. Wife of the late George "Pete" Barbour. Mother of Peter (Roselle) Barbour. Grandmother of Tami, Kimi and Peter Barbour. All services were private.
Margaret Mallon Kelly died peacefully on Aug. 4, 2008 after a long and happy life. She was born on May 4, 1915 in Brooklyn. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Rice and Patrick Mallon, wife of John P. Kelly who predeceased her in 1974. She is survived by her eight children, Daniel Kelly (Carol) of Floral Park, Michael Kelly (Angela) of Sea Cliff, Margaret Conetta (Donald) of Fairfield, CT, Ann Geldert of Bellerose, Patricia Barker (Daniel) of Wading River, Mary Kelly of Seaford, John Kelly of Sea Cliff, Patrick Kelly (Irena) of Highland Falls, and daughter-in-law Julie Kelly of Huntington. She was predeceased by her son Joseph Kelly.
Margaret was a loving and patient mother of nine children, grandmother of 28 and great-grandmother of 24. She was a devoted sister to her eight siblings who have all entered into eternal rest. After raising her family in Bellerose, Margaret returned to Brooklyn College to complete her education. She became a first grade teacher at St. Patrick's School in Long Island City for 15 years. After retiring from teaching she continued to work in the parish office at St. Boniface in Sea Cliff where she resided for more than 20 years until moving to Wading River with her daughter Patricia Barker and son-in-law Daniel Barker who cared for her until her death.
Margaret was a woman of great faith who when unable to attend Mass would view daily Mass on television. She enjoyed traveling, was an avid reader and enjoyed the company of her good friends at the Golden Ring and St Luke's Senior Center. Above all else her family was her greatest joy and happiness and she will be dearly missed.
Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Boniface Martyr Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor may be made to Sisters of St. Joseph, 1725 Brentwood Road, Brentwood, NY 11717.

Margo Perhshing O'Loughlin, of Glen Cove, died suddenly on Aug. 9, 2008 at the age of 62. Born in Scotland, she was a member and past president of the Locust Valley American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, past president of the Irish American Society of Nassau, Suffolk, and Queens, a member of Co. Clare PB&S Association of NY and Miltown Malbay Social Club of NY. Wife of Patrick O'Loughlin. Mother of Sgt. Scott Milne, NYPD, and Dawn (Christopher) Coyle. Granny to Thomas and Kaitlin Milne and Jack and Matthew Coyle. Also survived by Patrick's daughters, Michelle and Colleen. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
