The Glen Cove Youth Bureau Summer Fun Program has reached its midpoint. Fifty-three youth have enjoyed four weeks of exciting events, including trips to Claynation, the Long Island Game Farm, the New York Hall of Science, United Skates, Cove Lanes, Nassau County pools and local beaches, as well as educational presentations by Mad Science of Long Island. In addition to their offsite trips, the youth have also participated in arts and crafts, classroom Jeopardy, physical fitness and teambuilding activities.

The Tweens 2 Teens Program presented by the Youth Bureau provides outings geared toward youth ages 10 - 16. Trips have included a visit to the New York Aquarium, the Bronx Zoo, a Circle Line speedboat ride in New York City, go-carting in Ronkonkoma, an evening of fun at Adventureland, batting practice at Batter Up Batting Cage, and several movies. Tweens and teens are encouraged to take advantage of this program, from which they can pick and choose the trips they wish to join. Schedules and permission slips are available at the Youth Bureau office at 30A Glen Street. The final trip of the season is Aug. 17.

For a calendar of events, call the Youth Bureau at 671-4600. Programs are coordinated by Sandra Potter and supervised by youth service workers. Don't be left out... come see what it's all about!
