(The following letter was sent to Assemblyman Charles Lavine and is printed here at the writer's request.)
On Aug. 19 when you report back to Albany to address our NYS financial crisis, I hope you can shed your "lawyer/politician robes." Regardless of how Chuck Lavine has previously "played the game," somewhere, somehow there has to be a new Chuck Lavine who can adequately cloak himself in attire belying fiscal management, leadership and competence.
You were elected to "Fix Albany." Nothing got "fixed." It got worse.
To date, what you and your cohorts have done by act or omission has resulted in the ruination of our NYS economy and the financial detriment of millions of people.
It will continue to get worse unless you people fall back, regroup, and attack again in your political philosophies.
Perhaps we will see some welcome changes in the next election cycle that will bring on new legislators who are more adequate to the tasks at hand and who are not as pompous and arrogant as many who are presently in office.
Please do not respond. I'm interested in results, not convoluted rhetoric transferring blame to others.
