The North Shore Vikings lacrosse team is 10-3-1 with its win against Division and a tie against Manhasset. The Vikings are looking to compete with Friends Academy and Wantagh. They will see Friends on Wednesday and Wantagh on Friday. Playoffs will begin on Wednesday, May 21. The Vikings compete in the Class C playoff bracket. Offensively and defensively, the Vikings look strong with leadership from its seniors. The attack line is led by senior Kristin McCormack while the midfield is led by seniors Kaela McGilloway, Devon Comito and Kristen Reynolds. Ashley Janelli, Lauren Beyer and Maggie Drowica lead the defense.

The North Shore boys lacrosse team had a successful week with two big wins against conference opponents. The Vikings started the week with an 18-10 victory over Mineola High School. North Shore came out of the gate fast and took an 11-1 lead into the half but Mineola made a run late in the third quarter and fought back to bring the score to 12-6. The North Shore defense, led by goalie Glen Gerbush, was able to put a stop to the Mineola comeback and the Vikings came away with the win. Contributing to the highest goal total of the season for North Shore were Tommy Kilderry, Keith Lopez, Chris Dellavecchia, Taylor McGrath, Pete Volpe, Pat McCann, Tom Destio and Tyler Ryan, who scored his first varsity goal.

The Vikings then traveled to Bethpage High School on Saturday and came away with another exciting victory. Again, North Shore got on the scoreboard early, scoring seven goals and holding Bethpage to only two in the first half. McGrath led the North Shore offense in the first half along with help from Robbie Grabher at the face off X. The North Shore scoring continued in the second half, this time thanks to the efforts of Kilderry, Lopez, Dellavecchia, and Mike Lennon, who scored his first goal of the season. Bethpage made it close in the fourth quarter bringing the score within three, but again the defense was able to shut down any attempt of a comeback. Contributing to the defensive stand was Shaun Brala, Matt Meade, Will Vallasiadis, Tucker Morgan, and Mike Treco.

The 2008 North Shore golf team began the season with a 1-3 record, losing three of its first four matches. The team ended the 2008 season with a 7-3 record. The six-game winning streak included wins over previously undefeated Jericho, Friends Academy, Great Neck and Syosset. In two of these wins, the Vikings averaged fewer than 40 a player (averaging in the 30s for nine holes is very impressive). Coach Andrew Richter said, "It's a good thing for Manhasset (who swept the Vikings this season) that they played us early twice in the season. If they played us later, our winning streak would have been longer." Congratulations to the team for its remarkable end to the season. Another congratulation to Mike Curcio, who shot a one under par round against Friends Academy at Piping Rock Country Club. The Vikings are hot going into the postseason, which will be played at Bethpage State Park on May 20.
