The Glen Cove boys lacrosse team broke into the win column with a 6-4 victory over Sewanhaka. Sophomore Doug Tripp led the Big Red goal scorers with his second hat trick of the season. After falling behind early, Glen Cove evened the score on goals by Kevin Gardrvits and Charles Ring (his first career goal).

In the second quarter, Doug Tripp's first goal put the Big Red in the lead for good. Doug scored while GC was man-down, a position they found themselves in quite frequently during the game! Mike Pappachristou opened the third quarter scoring, and Tripp would close it out scoring the last two Big Red goals. Kevin Paolillo, Eric Tripp and Doug Tripp recorded assists.

The stars of the game were the Big Red defense, as they continuously stopped the Indian Extra Man Team. George Weck, Danny Mahoney, Garen Spendjian, Brandon Winkler, Phil Voegtlen, Zack Rubin, Raphael Montes and Ryan Zupa were asked time and time again to work their man-down magic. Brenden Huggins (10 saves) got the start in goal, and Scott Michaleas (9 saves) closed the door on Sewanhaka.

The next Big Red home game is today at 4:30 p.m. vs. St. Francis Prep.
