(The following letter was addressed to Father Aaron and the neighbors and businesses around Cedar Swamp Road and is printed here at the writer's request.)
I extend my thanks to the neighbors and business owners of the Cedar Swamp Road area for attending and participating in the Cedar Swamp Road Corridor Study on Thursday, March 6. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces come together as the city and county jointly undertake this study to identify opportunities in this important entranceway to our city and help revitalize this historic district that means so much to our community.
A special thank you to Father Aaron for allowing this event to take place in the Church of Saint Rocco parish hall. Saint Rocco has, and continues to be, one of the strongest influences in and around Cedar Swamp Road and therefore it is fitting that we launch this study from such a well-established center of community participation.
I look forward to continued community involvement which supports and embraces recommendations to create a vision for the future that will bring about improved economic viability, pedestrian connectivity and traffic patterns. Working together we will make the Cedar Swamp Road area stronger as part of the overall effort to help bring about positive change throughout Glen Cove.
Ralph V. Suozzi
Mayor, City of Glen Cove
Re our ridiculous gubernatorial scandal: At least it proves that the dilapidated Democrats of this misgoverned state should have nominated Tom Suozzi for governor when they had the chance a couple of years ago.
