"Kristen Reynolds breaks 1,000 points!" That was the Vikings cry on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, a date that will go down in North Shore High School athletics history as the day that basketball player Kristen Reynolds broke the 1,000-point plateau. Kristen is the only North Shore High School female athlete and only the second North Shore High School athlete to break this mark, the other being Billy Melillo, Class of '05. In fact, Kristen is only the 85th female in Nassau County history to surpass the 1,000 point total. Kristen is a four-year varsity starter and a three-time All-County basketball athlete. This is quite an accomplishment and a testament to the dedication Kristen gives to the sport of basketball.
The North Shore JV wrestling team took first place in the Herricks JV Invitational Tournament. Dylan Seudatt, John Rossi, and Jimmy Dromm led the way, winning all three matches. Ryan Hart had a tough match coming away with the win in the third period. George Cortisidis had two tough victories scoring 14 points against one of them. Tommy McCarthy had a victory, pinning his opponent in the second period. Cole Tornberg had two come-from-behind wins, pinning both opponents. Joe Manzione also had a huge come-from-behind win, pinning his opponent with nine seconds to go.
