The girls volleyball team has played nine matches with one to go and has a record of seven wins and two losses. Their victories have been convincing, having beaten teams both on the road and at home. These opponents include Manhasset, Cold Spring Harbor and Westbury. The team's Achilles' heel has been Friends Academy, where they lost their last match, two games to three games, but the girls have one final matchup on Wednesday as a fitting finale to a terrific season.
The girls have garnered a real fan club and have given their fans a real treat; they play three-touch volleyball and all the girls serve consistently and many use the over-arm serve. The 12 eighth-graders will be a great addition to the high school program.
