On Monday, Jan. 14 the Nassau County Legislature voted to approve the takeover of the Glen Cove sewer facility as part of a countywide consolidation plan. The vote was 10-8, with legislators voting on party lines.

On Wednesday Jan. 9, the varsity women's bowling team defeated Oyster Bay High School. Kristin Zaleskie paced the team with a high game of 184 on the way to a 426 series; both are personal bests.

The Glen Cove wrestling team continues to have a successful season. After the New Year, the Big Red faced the Westbury Green Dragons in a league match. Glen Cove was wrestling well as the team won a 54-19 victory.
