Patricia B. Wellington, longtime resident of Locust Valley, died on Dec. 20, 2007 at the age of 87. Wife of the late Herbert G. Wellington Jr., she is survived by her sons Charles, James, and William; her sister Elizabeth B. Noyes; and her grandchildren Robin, Michael, James, and Emily.

Mrs. Wellington was a strong supporter of the community. She was a trustee of the Village of Matinecock for 20 years and a generous supporter of Portledge School since its inception in 1965. She was also a member of the North Country Garden Club for many years. Patricia was an avid and accomplished tennis player her entire life and spent many summers in Ennis, MT, with her family and friends. Most notably, she was a loving wife and mother, and generous to all.

Matthew "Matteo" Riccardella, of Brooklyn, formerly of Glen Cove, died on Dec. 22, 2007 at age 37. Son of Carol and the late Pasquale. Grandson of Hugh and Elizabeth Donohue. Nephew of Frank, Elizabeth Wager and Melanie Davenport. Also survived by many cousins. Arrangements were made by the Funeral Home of Dodge-Thomas, Glen Cove. Prayer service at the funeral home. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery. Donations may be made to Cancer Care. Clara M. White, 86, of Bradford, PA, formerly of Glen Cove and Harrison Valley, PA, passed away on Dec. 22, 2007 in the Bradford Manor, Bradford, PA. Born June 15, 1921 in Page, WV, she was the daughter of Charles William and Mary E. Senzel Wynick. A World War II veteran, she served with the US Army in the Pacific Theatre. On Feb. 7, 1947 in Queens, she married Arthur E. White, who predeceased her in 1970. She was employed as a pediatric nurse at the Glen Cove Hospital and as a charge nurse at the Mont Clair Nursing Home in Glen Cove. Surviving are: a son, Allan A. (Dru Cary) White of Eldred, PA; a granddaughter, Tonia White of Gainesville, FL; two great-granddaughters; two brothers, Charles E. (Jeannette) Wynick and Kenneth J. (Virginia) Wynick, both of Harrison Valley, PA; two sisters, Evelyn (Keith) Wheaton of Ulysses, PA, and Arlene Haskins of Westfield, PA; and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Clarence Wynick. Arrangements were made by Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Funeral services officiated by The Rev. Mel Ternes. Military Rites accorded by members of the Potter County Honor Guard. Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale.

Mario Perillo, of Glen Cove, died on Dec. 22, 2007. He was an avid baseball player and co-founder of the Glen Cove Floor Hockey League. Son of Maria and the late Francesco Perillo. Father of Michael and Diana Perillo. Brother of Michael Perillo, Lewis (Ginette) Perillo, Carmelina Buchanan, Maria Ann (Polo) DeJesus, and Angela (Mario) Russo. Friend of Silvia and her daughter Adriana. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, long time friends and his adoptive family the Marianas. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Rocco. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery.

Mario Perillo's family requests that donations be made to the City of Glen Cove for improvements to the ball fields where he loved to be. City Stadium was his home away from home. Mario spent his childhood and his adult life playing the game he loved the most. He told his family that cancer may have taken him away from baseball but it couldn't take baseball out of him. He will miss the smell of the grass, sliding into the bases, the crack of the bat and of course hearing the words "play ball." When the improvements are complete, a plaque honoring his memory will be placed for all to remember him at the place he loved to be. Frank V. Carparelli, of Glen Head, died on Dec. 26, 2007. He was a retired Det. Lieutenant N.C.P.D. Husband of Connie (nee Zerella). Father of Frank J. (Tiffiny) Carparelli with the Suffolk County P.D., Diane Pascucci with the F.N.B. of L.I., and Lisa (John) Brala with the Oyster Bay-East Norwich C.S.D. Grandfather of Melissa, Nicole, Arianna, Shaun, Christie, Joseph, Nicholas, Frankie and two Christian sponsored children Nanang and Romauldo. He was a member of N.C.P.D., P.B.A., S.O.A., Detective Association, Retired NYS Police Association, IPA, Sec.5-L.I., F.O.P., Int'l Narcotics Office's Association, NCPD Holy Name Association, James Norton Council K of C. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Funeral Mass at St. Boniface Martyr Church, Sea Cliff. Interment private. Rosaria (Sadie) Speranza, of Glen Cove, died on Dec. 29, 2007. Wife of the late Joseph Sr. Mother of Ralph (Randi) and Joseph (Gail). Grandmother of Joseph, Jessica, Lara, Michael and Gregory. Sister of Rose, Louise and Rocco. Arrangements made by the McLaughlin Kramer Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Funeral Mass celebrated at the Church of St. Patrick. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
