At the December meeting of the Coalition for Glen Cove, vice-president Larry Fischer presented a plaque to Glen Cove School Board member Robert Lupinskie in appreciation of more than 16 years of sharing his intelligence, knowledge, energy and persistence to make a difference as a trustee and president of the Glen Cove School Board; as a trustee for the Nassau County BOCES; and as a member and officer of the Nassau-Suffolk, New York State, and National School Boards Associations; of the New York State Association of Small City School Districts; and of the Glen Cove Junior Soccer League.
Phyllis Burnett presented a citation from Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi thanking Mr. Lupinskie for his diligent work on behalf of "causes and ideals which uphold the principles of human decency," which, through the years, has demonstrated Mr. Lupinskie's selfless commitment to his community and its residents that warrants attention and gratitude. The citation was presented in "fitting recognition and heartfelt appreciation for your dedicated service to the community."
Marco Malusa, founder of the Glen Cove Junior Soccer League, presented a plaque from the league board of directors, which read, in part, "The Glen Cove Junior Soccer League is pleased to congratulate Robert Lupinskie. We thank him for his service to the children of our community through education and as a former president of the Glen Cove Junior Soccer League."
