The fourth October Golf Classic to benefit the Glen Cove Senior Center through the SAGE (Senior Activity Generational Endowment) Foundation was held Oct. 15th at the Glen Cove Golf Club.
It was fun on the links for SAGE members of the Glen Cove and surrounding communities.

The fundraiser was a huge success and brought in more than 100 golfers. Following a continental breakfast and relaxing massages, the golfers drove off to the course for a spectacular day.

The event was such a success thanks to the the dedication and hard work of many senior center volunteers, the participation of area merchants, many generous sponsors and special contributors, as well as the help of everyone in Glen Cove and surrounding communities who bought raffle tickets.

A buffet dinner was served at The Soundview Café to the golfers and 62 additional guests. The senior center provided music. The evening and the Chinese auction were emceed by Jackie "The Jokeman" Martling and a good time was had by all.

According to Carol Waldman, Glen Cove Senior Center director, the event was "the biggest and best fundraiser to date." All proceeds go to the SAGE Foundation which provides the Glen Cove Senior Center funding for programs to enrich the lives of seniors.
