North Shore is gearing up for its second annual Relay For Life. Last year, more than 1,500 people participated, raising more than $140,000. Taking on the responsibilities of chairing the event this year are students Lauren Koslow and Alex Romano, under the direction of Julia Salat who said, "I think we are going to have another great year and I can't wait! This year's theme is Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back."

As learned from last year, the key to a great Relay For Life is a strong committee comprised of members of the community passionate about the fight against cancer. The first committee meeting this year will be on Monday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in the North Shore High School cafeteria.

This meeting is for anyone interested in taking on a greater part of the planning for Relay For Life. Committees include entertainment, corporate sponsorship, hospitality, registration, raffles, luminaria, survivorship, etc. This meeting is for people interested in the various committees only. The team captain meetings will begin in January 2008.

If you are planning on attending, please contact Julia Salat at 277-7029 or Edward Mourdian, Jr. (ACS Staff Partner) at 921-6082 ext. 3005.
