Obituaries

Elizabeth C. Benham (nee DiTommaso), of Garden City and Lake George, NY, died unexpectedly on Nov. 1, 2007 at age 87. Mrs. Benham was the wife of the late Victor B. Benham Jr. who died in July 2007. She was the mother of Elizabeth B. Antonelli and David B. Benham (of Locust Valley); grandmother of Rebecca E. Duff, Stephen B. McFarlane, Victoria B. McFarlane, Tyler M. Benham and Clifton E. Benham; great-grandmother of James L. Duff III, Matthew B. Duff and Mabon C. Benham.

Mrs. Benham was the daughter of the late Reverend and Mrs. Francis DiTommaso. Her parents brought her to Lake George the summer of 1920 where she remained a resident until her death. Mrs. Benham's father was instrumental in the commercial development of the main center of Canada Street in Lake George. She and her family were devoted to the tasteful development of the village and they had a passion for the history and natural beauty of the Adirondacks. Mrs. Benham was a long-time member of the Garden City Community Club and a volunteer for many years at Winthrop University Hospital.

The interment will be private. Arrangements were made by Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. James Episcopal Church, Montcalm St., Lake George, NY 12845.

Christopher Trinche, 51, passed peacefully on Nov. 4, 2007. For many years, Chris joyfully shared his musical gifts as bass trombonist of the Northwest Indiana Symphony, organist at the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs and as a dedicated music teacher for many private students. He thrilled in performing the great works of important composers and his legacy will be treasured by all whose lives he touched through his musical ministry in times of celebration and sorrow. His genuine passion for the well-being of his students was always present in his instruction and he took great pride in helping to shape their futures.

Chris is survived by his wife Lori (Calkins) whose family members loved him as one of their own; his mother Frances; siblings, Louise and Peter; and nephews, Matthew and Evan Hockett. Chris was preceded in death by his late father Albert and late brother Albert Jr.

A memorial service celebrating Chris' life will be held on Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs, 5250 Wolf Rd., Western Springs, IL 60558. Helen M. Olsen, lifelong resident of Glen Cove, died on Nov. 9, 2007 at age 98. She was a former V.P. of Franklin National Bank, Sea Cliff. Sister of the late Frances McAdams (the late Alphonsus) and the late Marie. Aunt of Gene McAdams (Ann) and Ned McAdams (MaryAnn). Also survived by eight grand-nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by the Funeral Home of Dodge-Thomas, Glen Cove. Mass at St. Patrick's RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery. Dr. Pandelis Camesas of Glen Cove, died on Nov. 12, 2007. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School with honors, Summa Cum Laude. Enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp in 1942 and was commissioned 1st Lt. In 1944. Dr. Camesas served numerous missions in the Pacific area as a B-24 Bombardier before being discharged in 1946. He attended City College and upon graduation in 1949 was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He ttended Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and was adjunct professor at Dental College for 25 years. He had a private dental practice in Astoria for 41 years. He was president of the AHEPA Queensborough chapter in Astoria and served as trustee of St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Hempstead. Husband of Tisula. Father of Dr. Larry (Dr. Adrienne) Camesas, Katherine Camesas and Christina (Theodore) Loukides. Grandfather of Christopher and Alexandra Camesas and Nicholas and Sophia Loukides. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Funeral service and interment are private. George I. Familette, 58, longtime resident of Glen Cove and Florida, died after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his children, George Jr. (Sara), Peter (Susannah), Adam (Jessica) and Jason. He is also survived by his siblings, Chuck (Mary Jane), Daniel (Diane) Lena, Shirley, Rose Matrone (Joe) and Beverly Ptarcinski (Ed). He was loved by his grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A service in his honor will be held on

Saturday, Nov. 17 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Martyr Church. Sea Cliff.

H. Joseph (Duddy) Orski, of New Port Richey, FL, formerly of Bayville, died on Nov. 7, 2007. He was retired from NCPD. Husband of Martha. Father of Deborah (John) Turner and Edward J. (Kiki) Orski. Grandfather of Taylor, Eden and Julia. Arrangements were made by the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Funeral Mass celebrated at the Church of St. Gertrude. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery. James T. Kennedy, of New York City, Venice, FL, and Bayville, died on Nov. 12, 2007. He was a funeral director. Husband of the late Lillian. Father of Karen, Lynn (Andrew) DeNatale, Christine Pedone, James (Denise) and the late Kevin. Grandfather of eight. Great-grandfather of four. Arrangements were made by the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Funeral Mass celebrated at the Church of St. Gertrude. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery.
