Eugene W. Dail, lifelong resident of Glen Cove, died on Oct. 18, 2007 at age 58. He is survived by his family, cousins, Carolyn Newton (Johnny), William Richardson II, Cheryl Love, Robert Richardson, Michael and Sabrina Richardson; his soulmate Kim Rollins; aunts and uncles: Frances Tolliver, Ramona Dempsey, Willie Borum, Valma Jones, Ernestine Hall, Brenda Ferbee, Ethel Pascuale, California and Tiny Philips, William Richardson Sr., and Charles Dail. Reposed at the Funeral Home of Dodge-Thomas, Glen Cove. Interment private.
Gerald L. Soergel, 80, of Locust Valley, died on Oct. 25, 2007. Long time VP and manager of the former Long Island Trust Co. and The Bank of New York. Husband of Grace Leslie. Father of Bob (Paulette), the late Linda Ann, Kimberley (Timothy Myers), Allyson (John Malusa). Grandfather to Christopher (Abra) and Timothy (Jennifer) Soergel, Kevin Odell, Kyle and Gregory Myers, and Michael, Melanie and Matthew Malusa. Great- grandfather to Dakota and Robyn Soergel.
Jerry served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the Motor Torpedo Boats and was a proud member of PT Boats, Inc. He was a lifetime member of the Advance Mizpah Masonic Lodge 586, past president of the New Hyde Park Rotary and the Freeport Exchange Club and a past director of the Freeport Chamber of Commerce. He was very active in the Reformed Church of Locust Valley and served in the Classis of Nassau/Suffolk as their treasurer for many years. Jerry was an avid boater, golfer and bowler who kept his average in the 180s with the Over the Hill Gang.
Memorial service Nov. 3 at the Reformed Church of Locust Valley at 11 a.m. Arrangements made by Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Don Monti Memorial Research Foundation.
Josephine Claire Tully of Glen Cove, died on Oct. 25, 2007. She was an active member of the Glen Cove Womens Club; active in the Northport veterans community; a volunteer at the Glen Cove Hospital; a member of the Rosary Society at St. Patrick's; former member and volunteer of St. Mary's, Manhasset, NY. Wife of the late Edward A., Jr. Mother of Edward A. III (Brenda), Robert (Gail), Richard (Vincent) and Kevin (Karen). Grandmother of Jennifer (Brad), Jacky (Mike), Megan (Tom), Kristine and Kaitlyn; and great-grandmother of Brendan and Connor. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
