Florence E. Miller

Florence E. Miller, 69, of Berthoud and formerly of Loveland passed away at her home in Berthoud on Oct. 20, 2007. Florence Etta Miller was born in Glen Cove on Nov. 14, 1937 to Edmund G. and Frances M. (McGibbon) Jaeger. She attended and graduated from Sea Cliff High School in 1956 and then received her nursing certificate from Project Heights School of Nursing in Brooklyn.
Florence married Dana R. Miller in Florence, SC, on Jan. 16, 1961. They made their home in Huntington Station where Florence started her family and continued her nursing career at the hospital. They moved to Colorado in 1971, to Loveland in 1974 and to Berthoud in 1989.
Florence had been with the Loveland Memorial Hospital, which became the McKee Medical Center in 1976, retiring in 2002 with 27 years of her nursing career in Loveland.
Florence loved to travel, having recently returned from a cruise in Alaska. She was a member of professional nurse organizations, ELNEC, the Red Hatters and the Colorado Mustang Club. She was treasurer for the American Association for Continuity of Care.
She is survived by her husband Dana R. Miller of Berthoud, CO; a son Dana A. Miller and wife Patti of Huntingtown, MD; a daughter Dawn Marie Martin-Miller and husband Jeffrey Marr of Rio Rancho, NM; a granddaughter Pamela Martin of Ft. Collins, CO; two brothers, Robert E. Jaeger and partner Carol Van Alstine of Golden, CO, and Francis C. Jaeger and wife Kathy of North Carolina; a sister Nancy Garda and husband Andrew of Dix Hills; step-mother-in-law Catherine Miller of Boulder, CO; sister-in-law of Gary Miller and wife Vicki of Ft. Collins, CO, Roger Miller and wife Sue Armijo of Nathrop, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cecelia Arominski, 90, died on Oct. 22, 2007. Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born Aug. 12, 1917 in Brooklyn to Mary and Martin Ploszaj. She made her home in Greenpoint before moving to Locust Valley in 1947. She married Edward Arominski in 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, son-in-law Charles Moyses, brother Joseph and sister Anna. She is survived by her children, Lorraine (Ralph) Macey, Edward (Theresa) and Martin and daughter-in-law Arlene Arominski, 10 grandchildren, Judith (Alan) Nichols, Meredith (Carl) Cores, Katherine and Audra Moyses, Ami (Scott) Brown, Cricket Neel, Ashley Arominski, Stephanie, Christopher, Stephen Arominski, three great-grandchildren, Charlie Nichols, Jonah and Jaden Brown, Jason Williams and her sister Julia (Walter) Razukas. The family will receive friends Oct. 25 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, 220 Glen St., Glen Cove.
