Regarding the letter from Janice LaRocca called "I've Seen Joy in Teaching" and mentioning the black T-shirts that teachers are wearing on Wednesdays, at the suggestion of the GCTA, I feel the apparel (with slogans) is inappropriate and totally unprofessional. If parents are so upset by teachers wearing the black T-shirts, then they should voice their concerns to the teachers, GCTA and the New York State Teachers Association.

Teachers are supposed to be role models for children. Teachers should not bring politics into the classroom.
