The 2007 varsity football season is underway. The Vikings will play their first game at home on Saturday, Sept. 15 against Cold Spring Harbor. Kickoff is 1 p.m.

This year the Vikings are lead by team captains Peter Volpe, Craig DeMeo, Bobby Magnuson and Matt Meade. Senior Taylor McGrath will be lining up in the backfield to lead the running game as receivers Michael Lennon, Lukas Gaun, Zach Falk and Ian Hnatov will balance out the offense with a solid passing attack. Charlie Dunn and Matt Divincenzo will join Meade and Volpe on the offensive line. Chris Napoli joins the team for the first time and has been a tremendous addition to the defensive line. North Shore High School Football was featured on Channel 5-FOX Good Day New York Thursday, Aug. 23. Fox 5 WNYW and Varsity Networks were promoting their new feature, MyFoxLocker.com, dedicated to promoting high school athletics. Mike Woods, Duke Castiglione, Vanessa Alfano, and Bret Larson covered news and weather, while interacting with the North Shore Football teams during pre-season practice. Fans and supporters of the Vikings arrived at the football field at 6 a.m. to be a part of the broadcast. Coaches, players, cheerleaders and fans were interviewed and North Shore was celebrated throughout the greater metropolitan area.
