The 8-year-old North Shore Viking baseball team won its first ever tournament title in its inaugural season. The Vikings are led by solid pitching, clutch hitting and a superb, tight defense which yielded less than 10 runs in the whole tournament. The 8-U North Shore team burst onto the baseball scene rather auspiciously by defeating Plainedge in the semi-finals and Plainview in the championship game. The fledgling Viking team is coached by Francis Aughavin, Dave Knehr, Tom Aufiero and Vinnie Lasorsa.
