Jury Hands Down Sentence on Drunk Driver at Soundview Restaurant
On Tuesday, Aug. 21, Nassau County Supreme Court handed down its sentence in the case of Sayed Khaled El-Waraky, the American University student who ran down four young local men at the Soundview Restaurant last summer.

Car Crash Leads to Search, Arrest by GCPD
On Sunday, Aug. 19, at about 8:30 p.m., Glen Cove Police were called to the scene of an overturned vehicle on Walnut Road in Glen Cove, reported Glen Cove Det. Sgt. Tom Fitzpatrick. According to the sergeant, PO Chris Albin was the first on the scene and observed the car overturned, motor running, with no occupants.

Let's go fishing! The Glen Cove Mayor's Snapper Derby is Saturday, Aug. 25 with registration from 8:15 to 9:30 a.m. All registrants should bring one rod and reel and must register in the proper age division. Junior Division is for ages 6-10 years old; Senior Division is for 11-16 years old.

The Glen Cove Junior Soccer League is still registering players for the fall 2007 intramural season while space remains. Registrations will be accepted for all divisions, but players will not be added once the teams of a division are full. Don't be shut out!
