Opinion

I must say that the best thing for Glen Cove is the development of the waterfront. Not only is it something for my generation to enjoy, but also for the next generation of Glen Covers who pride themselves on living here. I think there is nothing better than making Glen Cove what it once was and what it should be: a bustling city that can sustain itself while offering the community so many shopping, nightlife and living options. I'm also excited about the ferry coming back. My friends and I would much rather take the ferry into Manhattan for a night out on the town rather than sit on the LIRR. I'm all for the development and I, like so many other Glen Covers, want to see this happen before I'm too old to enjoy it. Get going already, Glen Cove! The only thing hurting by not developing the waterfront is Glen Cove. $300,000 a year to maintain the mortgage on that dump? What are you waiting for! That's $300,000 more for my Alma Mater!
