The 2007-2008 North Shore School District budget passed by 1,785 yes votes to 915 no votes. Proposition 2 was passed by district residents allowing for the placement of $5 million of the $6 million in retroactive funds from the PILOT agreement between LIPA and Nassau County in a Repair Reserve Fund. The remaining $1 million of these funds and an additional $1.2 million received in 2007 will be utilized to further reduce school property taxes. Proposition 3, the Resident Petitioned Transportation Referendum, was voted down by the community.

Carolyn Mazzu Genovesi and George Pombar will maintain their trustee positions while Anna Sharkey has been elected to the board, replacing Trustee Tom Murphy who did not seek re-election.
