Nanette Binder (nee Hochreich), who resided in Glen Cove for 48 years in Morgan Park Estates, died April 29, 2007 after a long illness. Wife of the late Harry (1999). Loving mother of Dr. Karen Binder-Brynes and Andrew Paul Binder. Adored grandmother of Elana and Lily Brynes, all of New York City.

Nanette loved Glen Cove because of the beauty of the parks and beaches and it was a beautiful place to raise children. The history of Glen Cove was also a fact.

Alice A. Ostafski, lifelong resident of Glen Cove, died on May 4, 2007 at age 89. Cousin of Ellie (Nick) Pucciariello, Nikki (Brian) Paris and Charles (Nona) Pucciariello. She was predeceased by her siblings, Helen, Charles, Mae and John. Alice was an avid gardener and reader. The beautiful Glen Cove was her pleasure. Upon her retirement from Slater Electric, she volunteered at Glen Cove Hospital as an assistant to the priests in the Pastoral Ministry. Alice enjoyed her membership in the Locust Valley Homemakers. Arrangements were made by the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Funeral Mass celebrated at the Church of St. Patrick. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery. Peter L. Doran, age 75, of Tarpon Springs, FL, passed away at his residence on May 6, 2007. He was born in Glen Cove and moved to Tarpon Springs in 1995. He was a lawyer and enjoyed playing golf and tennis. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Frances; son, Peter Scott Doran of Coral Gables, FL; daughter, Elizabeth F. Doran of Merrick; brother, Charles Doran of Nakomis, FL; brother, Thomas Doran of New London, NH; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held on May 9 at Trinity Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Trinity, FL. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hospice of North Pinellas or American Cancer Society. Carmela "Millie" Gibaldi, of Glen Head, died on May 7, 2007. Wife of the late Anthony. Mother of Rocco (Judy) Gibaldi and Carmine (Mary-Rita) Gibaldi. Grandmother of Christopher, David, Michael and James Gibaldi. Sister of Mary Sansone. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Roslyn. Entombment Holy Rood Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
