The Sunday after Thanksgiving was a beautiful autumn day and a record field of 530 intrepid cross country runners showed up to enjoy a picture perfect morning of running through the trails of Stillwell Woods in Syosset in the 24th annual Rob's Run.

Glen Cove was well-represented and local runners made their hometown proud. Loreley Gomez, 16, took second place honors in the women's 15-19 age group. Chris Sorenson placed third in the 25-29 age group and led his "Sorenson Siblings" team that included Carina, Elizabeth and Timmy Sorenson to third place in the co-ed open division of the team competition. The team of Paul Rooney, Mike Duvally, Elizabeth Caldwell and Samantha Nadell - all Glen Covers- took third place honors in the Middle School Division of the team competition.
