K of C Reaches Out Once More to Deliver Christmas Joy
On Sunday Dec. 17, the James Norton Council Knights of Columbus embarked on the second phase of their holiday mission. Just like at Thanksgiving, the K of C prepared 50 food baskets for distribution. The council is fortunate to have the opportunity to be able to reach out to many different families and support groups to help those in need, and only wishes it could do more.

Legislature Intervenes in Federal Lawsuit to Save County $15 Million
The Nassau County Legislature and the County Board of Elections moved to intervene in a lawsuit that the United States has brought against the State of New York to enforce compliance with the Help America Vote Act (HAVA). At jeopardy is about $50 million in HAVA funding for county boards of election throughout New York State, including about $15 million for Nassau County.

Glen Covers Runners Score in Rob's Run
The Sunday after Thanksgiving was a beautiful autumn day and a record field of 530 intrepid cross country runners showed up to enjoy a picture perfect morning of running through the trails of Stillwell Woods in Syosset in the 24th annual Rob's Run.

Glen Cove High School Big Red Sports
The Glen Cove girls varsity basketball team is looking to turn things around this year as they look to their young talent and returning players to lead them toward their first winning season in a number of years. Returning seniors Aileen Sloane and Laura Brady are sure to play an integral role in Big Red's success this year. Rounding out the starting five are Anne Brady, Kelsea Valance and Meredith Baede.
