Sea Cliff to Receive $330,000 in EPF Grants
Senator Carl L. Marcellino has announced Environmental Protection Fund (EPF) grants to the Town of Oyster Bay and the Village of Sea Cliff for waterfront revitalization and increased recreational opportunities.

Will Shell House Be History?
The Glen Cove City Council main chamber was filled with residents on Tuesday, Aug. 15 with residents for a public hearing to discuss the Landmark Commission's recommendation to give landmark designation to the Shell House on East Island. More than one hundred years of history was revisited for nearly five hours, from 7:30 p.m. until after midnight, as proponents and opponents of the proposal took to the podium to advance their cause. However, as the meeting proceeded, residents protesting the landmark designation took up most of the allotted time, allowing those in favor of the designation to just begin their arguments, when the lateness of the hour required the meeting to be concluded with Mayor Ralph V. Suozzi pronouncing, "This hearing will be continued at the Aug. 22 meeting." Originally, the city council had planned on voting on the landmark designation at that meeting.

Anthony Bellock Competes in HIP Grand Slam Challenge
Anthony Bellock, GCHS Class of 2006 and a former centerfielder for Glen Cove High School, recently competed in the second annual HIP Grand Slam Challenge at Citibank Park with more than 1,000 cheering fans in attendance. The Suffolk County All-Stars defeated the Nassau County All-Stars, 11-8, giving Suffolk two straight wins.
