The Glen Cove Junior Baseball 12U travel team returned from a challenging week of baseball and fun at the Cooperstown All-Star Village. Twenty-two teams from across the country faced off, with tough competition from the sunny states of California, Florida and Georgia as well as teams from Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania and other New York clubs. With a strong group effort, the Astros made it to the playoffs but a team from South Carolina walked away with the final trophy.

The boys would like to thank everyone in the community for their support as well as the managements of Stop & Shop and Blockbuster, where they sold raffle tickets to help fund the trip (lucky Jennifer Hernandez from Brooklyn won the big screen TV). Special thanks also go to GC Junior Baseball and all the hardworking coaches who over the years have helped the boys develop the skills to take their game to a national field. Coaches Geoff, Julio, Dave, Rich and Will should also be commended for the team's great behavior on and off the field and for giving the boys a memory which will last a lifetime.
