Physics Debacle Disputed at GC BOE Meeting
A palpable range of emotions filled the Glen Cove High School cafeteria on Monday, June 5 at a special meeting of the Glen Cove Board of Education. It was standing room only, as a number of presentations were on the agenda. A ceremony marking tenure for a number of faculty members, site committee reports and a presentation of puppetry by the Kids on the Block (KOTB), a theatrical arm of the Glen Cove Youth Bureau, featuring situations that impact on today's youth, were scheduled to be featured. Additionally, parents who had asked to speak at the special meeting (special meetings of the board traditionally do not include comments from the public), were waiting their turn.

New Web-Based Tools Introduced at NS BOE Meeting
The North Shore Board of Education began its June 1 meeting by congratulating the middle school finalists in the Long Island Math Fair. North Shore saw 17 students in the final round - more than any other school - and seven of them won gold medals. Five won silver medals and two won bronze.

Pro Hoops Youth Basketball Clinic at Stanco Park
St. Rocco Basketball, in association with Pro Hoops, Inc. is pleased to present the "Under The Lights" Basketball Clinic on Wednesday evening, July 5 at the Stanco Park Basketball Courts at the Glen Cove Golf Course. The clinic is open to boys and girls entering grades 4 thru 9 in September. There will be a boys session from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and a girls session from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
