ABCs of District Report Card Discussed at BOE Meeting
The Glen Cove Board of Education meeting of Monday, May 8 began with the introduction by Board President Richard Tortorici of the district's internal auditor. The man was familiar to anyone who has been attending board meetings for a number of years. Glen Cove resident and CPA Vito Abbandandolo, former longtime board member and president, has been hired by the district to audit its finances.

North Shore High School Viking Sports
A disappointing week with losses to Seaford and Glen Cove was highlighted by a 9-5 win over Carle Place. What made this win special was that pitcher Lauren Silka, making her first varsity start, went the distance and earned her first career win. Kelly Henry led the offense against the Frogs, going 3-4, with five RBIs and a powerful three-run homer that broke open a close game.

Glen Cove High School Big Red Sports
The Glen Cove varsity softball team played in the Mudville New York State Softball Tournament in Herkimer, NY on April 29. The team played outstanding softball, won the tournament and Aja Alter was named tournament MVP.
