GC School Board Meeting Hits High Notes
The Glen Cove School Board and administration seemed happy to be presiding at the meeting of Monday, March 3, and the reason soon became evident. Representing the Glen Cove Endowment for Music & Arts Education (GCEMAE), Joel Sunshine, president, and Linda Cirigliano, vice president and "sidekick," presented the district with a check in the amount of $4,401 for the purchase of a new, mahogany, 5-foot grand piano for the high school, thanks to ambitious fundraising.

Photocircuits Sale to AMPAC Saves 850 Jobs
Photocircuits, the oldest and largest manufacturer of printed circuit boards, located on Sea Cliff Avenue in Glen Cove, has announced that it has completed the sale of its assets to a newly formed subsidiary of American Pacific Financial Corporation (AMPAC), a private equity investor from San Bernardino, CA.

Glen Cove High School Big Red Sports
Congratulations to Glen Cove senior Willie LeBron. Willie was awarded the Coach Gary Ventimiglia Memorial Scholarship at the Nassau County Wrestling Awards Dinner. Coach Ventimiglia was a fine educator and leader of young men at East Meadow High School. While his coaching career was cut short by his untimely passing, he made a very strong impression on his wrestlers. One of his former athletes is the current East Meadow coach, Tom Reynolds.

North Shore High School Viking Sports
The North Shore girls track and field team had its first competition of the season this week. There were some excellent performances, even with that March chill still in the air. First place performances were by eighth- grader Brianna Welch in the 3000m and the 4x400 relay, which included Welch, senior Allyson Gordon, sophomore Debbie Gilbert and freshman Thea Lange.
