The other day I was headed for Sorenson Lumber to pick up a few things needed to do the usual maintenance work around the house. As I parked, I thought it will be nice to see Jay (Mc Neal) again and have a rousing round of banter. He would ask, "Who let him in?" and I would ask, "Does he still work here?"

From there we would seek out the needed items together and he would comment on a recent letter or he would ask, "When are your going to write another letter to the editor?" I would then tell him, "When the time comes." Discussion of some of the current local events might then follow.

My stays there usually ran longer than planned but I always left with a nice friendly feeling.

This day was different. On arrival I saw that there was a notice that Jay had passed on.

It is, therefore, for Jay that I write this letter. Jay was the type of person who makes a visit to a store enjoyable and instills a desire to return. Always helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and with a sense of humor. I will miss him.
