Virginia Kramer Gribbin, died on Sept. 16, 2005, in St. Petersburg, FL. Virginia was a native of Glen Cove, daughter of the late Marie and Matthew J. Kramer. She was a graduate of Glen Cove High School and the College of New Rochelle, in New York. Virginia's husband, the late Lt. Col. Thomas A. Gribbin II, USMC, was a decorated war hero and an aide to General Nathan Twining, Commander of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, under the Eisenhower administration. The Gribbin School was named for Lt. Col. Gribbin's father. Virginia planted roots in Florida, with her three young children, after the untimely death of her husband. As a resident of Bardmoor, and a member of the Bayou Club, Virginia held numerous positions, over the years, on the Board of Directors of her residential area and was quite active in the community. She was a Trust Officer, for the Bank of Clearwater, and was retired at the time of her death. Sister of Paula Kramer Fellows, the late Anne Kramer Collins, and the late Matthew J. Kramer, Jr. Mother to Paula Gribbin Arnold, Virginia Gribbin Fugate, and Thomas A. Gribbin III. Grandmother of four and great-grandmother of five. Aunt of 10 nieces and nephews. Virginia, accompanied by a United States Marine Corps Honor Guard, was buried with her late husband, at Arlington National Cemetery. Emanuel "Manny"Pearlmutter, of Glen Cove, died on Oct. 12, 2005 at age 90. He was former owner of Limco Inc. Husband of Edna Zendle. Father of Martha Paltzik (Robert) and Ellen Quasha (Andrew). Grandfather of Sonya, Tamar (Kevin), Edward, Daniel, Scott and Jason. Great-grandfather of Emily. Brother-in-law of Henry Zendle, Ethel Eckenstein and Edward Zendle (Florence). Service at the Funeral Home of Dodge-Thomas, Glen Cove. Interment New Montefiore Cemetery. Donations may be made to Hospice Care Network, 99 Sunnyside Blvd. Woodbury, NY 11797. Paul Di Stefano, longtime resident of Bayville, died on Oct. 13, 2005 at age 96. Husband of Vita. Father of Dr. Ignatius (Susan), Judge Biagio (Susan) and Paul G. (Donna). Grandfather of Kristin, Blaze, Nicholas and Nina. Reposed at the Funeral Home of Dodge-Thomas, Glen Cove. Mass held at St. Gertrude RC Church. Interment Locust Valley Cemetery. Eilleen Mary Belser, of Old Westbury, formerly of Locust Valley, died on Oct, 13, 2005 at age 89. Wife of the late Col. William G. Jr. Mother of Pamela Mary Pratt Belser, Wendy Wilson Belser and Eileen Knowler Belser. Sister of the late Kenneth C.D. Knowler. Grandmother of Alexander William Belser. Service at Arlington National Cemetery. Interment following. Arrangements by Dodge-Thomas Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Pietro Crocco, of Glen Cove, died on Oct. 14, 2005 at age 71. He was a longtime employee of Grumann Aerospace Corp. Husband of Claudia. Father of Tony, John and Peter (Cynthia). Brother of the late Michelina Gigliotti. Grandfather of Andrew Peter. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Reposed at the Funeral Home of Dodge-Thomas, Glen Cove. Mass held at St. Rocco's RC Church. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
