Edward Murdock Roberts, of Glen Head, died on Aug. 3, 2005 at the age of 84 of complications from emphysema.
After a first career as a dispatcher with Eastern and National Airlines, Ed turned to broadcasting in the early days of television, spending more than 15 years as production manager at WPIX-TV in NYC. Subsequently, he started and ran his own business, a supplemental education franchise in Huntington, one of the first to exploit computers as an educational tool. He authored Fingertip Math, a how-to book about the use of calculators, published by Texas Instruments and Radio Shack shortly after handheld calculators were introduced.
From 1944 to 1961, Ed was married to Mary McIlvaine, with whom he had one son. In 1962, Ed married Kathryn Rice Marcus who passed away in 2001. He strongly supported her lifelong involvement in the Episcopal Church and they were active together in the original Glen Players.
Ed is survived by his son, Alec Murdock and wife Kim; stepdaughter Carol Anne Marcus; sister Elizabeth Linscott Martens; nephew Roger Linscott and wife Rose; and niece Diana Conney and husband Dan. Ed's service was held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Roslyn and interment at Old Cambridge Cemetery in Massachusetts. Arrangements were made by the Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head.

Maurice (Ed) Fitzgibbon III, 59, of Glen Cove, passed away peacefully on Aug. 13, 2005 at home with his family at his side. Husband of Anne for 30 years this month. Father of Elizabeth, Terence and Kevin. Son of Rita and the late Maurice E. Jr. Brother of Mary Kenny, Mark, Brian, Gregory, Matthew and the late Gerald. Brother-in-law of Fred, Mary and John Hill and Kathy Olson. He was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam. Arrangements were made by the McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home, Glen Cove. Andrew L. "Doc"Watson, of Locust Valley, died on Aug. 14, 2005. He worked for LILCO for 41 years, was very active with the local Boy Scouts, VFW, American Legion and Marine Corps League. Husband of Mary. Brother of the late Albert. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
