Fatal Glen Cove Road Accident
A tragic car accident occurred in Old Brookville on Glen Cove Road near East View Lane at approximately 6 a.m. on Sunday, July 24. The two occupants of the vehicle were taken to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. The passenger, Andreas Christopoulos, 21, of Glen Cove, passed away at the hospital about two hours later from injuries sustained in the accident. The driver of the vehicle, Crescenzo Saviano, 24, also of Glen Cove, remains in the intensive care unit at the hospital due to his injuries.

Holzkamp Breaks Ground for Waterfront Roadway
Glen Cove Mayor Mary Ann Holzkamp performed the honors on Monday as she broke ground for the new road to the city's waterfront. Mayor Holzkamp said, "Today is an historic day for the residents of our city. It thrusts our city into an era that will see the restoration of Brownfield properties as well as the return of 50 prime waterfront acres to the city's tax rolls."

It's time to mark your calendars for this year's GCJSL summer soccer camps. This year the GCJSL has teamed up with the LIJSL to bring youngsters three exciting 5-day soccer camps: July 25 through July 29, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at City Stadium on Morris Ave; Aug. 8 through Aug. 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Glen Cove HS Pitt Field; Aug. 15 through Aug. 19, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at City Stadium on Morris Ave.
