Detective Sergeant Tom Fitzpatrick of the Glen Cove Police Department has reported the arrest of four Glen Cove residents for their involvement in the stabbing attack of two Oyster Bay men on Glen Street last month.
According to Sgt. Fitzpatrick, Detective Walter Moretto of the Glen Cove Police Department and Detectives McCarthy, Haley and Perez of the Nassau County Police Department Second Squad arrested the men on July 1 and charged each with two counts of attempted murder, second degree, robbery, first degree and gang assault, first degree
Ramon Redondo, 30, Jose Redondo, 33, Carlos Bonilla, 18, and Thomas Bonilla, 24, were charged with trying to kill two men that they confronted at Orchard Plaza in the early morning hours of June 12, stated the sergeant. The two victims and at least two of their assailants were in the Seven Mares Grill earlier in the night when an altercation broke out. The Oyster Bay men were asked to leave by the restaurant staff and another confrontation between the two groups ensued near the 7-Eleven in the same parking lot. Sgt. Fitzpatrick stated, "The two victims received multiple stab wounds; one received 13 wounds in all, including wounds to his head, chest, back and stomach. A wallet that contained approximately $300 was also taken from one of the victims. Both victims underwent surgery to repair their wounds."
Sgt. Fitzpatrick said that the four defendants were arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on July 2 and the investigation is continuing.
